Ka Wai began in the early 1980s, not in a factory, but in a tiny kitchen tucked away in Sha Tin. Our grandfather, a snack‑lover with a passion for perfecting the simple peanut, would spend his weekends roasting batches over a small charcoal fire. The aroma would drift through the neighbourhood, drawing friends and family who’d knock on the door, hoping for a taste. Word spread, and soon we were packing little bags for local shops, our name—Ka Wai—synonymous with the honest, crunchy snacks that Hong Kongers grew up loving.

 

For four decades, we’ve stayed true to those roots. We still hand‑select every nut, and we still roast them in small batches to lock in flavour. But as tastes evolved, so did we. Today, we’re reimagining our classic recipes with healthier ingredients—less sugar, less salt, no unnecessary additives because we believe that the snacks we loved as kids should still be enjoyed as adults, without compromise.
